Gleneagles
A century of Scottish grandeur, sporting legend, and country pursuits without equal.
Scotland’s Grand Sporting Estate
Opened in 1924 as a grand railway hotel, Gleneagles has spent a century as the address Scotland sends the world to. The house sits within 850 acres of Perthshire, with hills, streams and sporting country unfolding beneath the Ochils. The estate changes with the season, from heather and long summer light to frost on the fairways and fires by late afternoon. Golf is the legend: three championship courses, the 2014 Ryder Cup and the 2019 Solheim Cup. What keeps people longer is everything else, from serious dining and spa time to falconry, riding, shooting and a Sporting Club where padel has arrived in style.
The Facilities
Choice is the only real demand. Dine at two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, beside an open fire or over afternoon tea; disappear into the spa and thermal pools; then try falconry, gundogs, shooting, riding, or off-road driving across the estate.
The Padel
The Sporting Club houses three indoor padel courts: two doubles and one singles academy court, all laid with Mondo Supercourt XN turf. Court hire includes rackets and balls, while one-hour coaching can be arranged for individuals or groups of up to four.
