Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An
An all-villa Four Seasons beachfront retreat, a short ride from lantern-lit Hoi An.
Where a Fishing Village Once Stood
Spread across 35 hectares of Vietnam’s central coast between Da Nang and Hoi An, the resort follows phong thuy, the Vietnamese practice of feng shui. Parisian architect Reda Amalou drew inspiration from nha vuon, the region’s garden homes, with timber-framed pavilions beneath pitched tiled roofs, each enclosed by walls and shaded by some 4,500 palms. Two Michelin Keys and a Forbes Five-Star rating reflect its standing since opening in 2006. Three UNESCO World Heritage sites are within easy reach, with padel on site for days closer to home.
The Facilities
The Heart of the Earth Spa stands out, with eight treatment pavilions over a lotus lagoon and evenings closing with crystal singing bowls. Three pools step towards the sea, the last reserved for adults, while NAYUU’s omakase and Sol & Sao’s sherry list give dinner real range.
The Padel
A single floodlit court sits beside the Health Club, alongside tennis and pickleball courts, so a game can wait until the heat eases. Rackets and balls are complimentary, and the on-site coach is available for lessons or simply to make up a four.
