Cheval Blanc Randheli
Whitewashed villas, pop-yellow accents and a French sense of occasion in far Noonu Atoll
Three MICHELIN Keys in the Maldives
Randheli opened in 2013 as LVMH's second Cheval Blanc, after the original in Courchevel, and trades the Alps for a private cluster of coral islands forty minutes north of Malé by seaplane. Jean-Michel Gathy drew it as a single composition: thatched roofs, cathedral-height ceilings and screens of bamboo, teak and mother-of-pearl that let the light off the lagoon move through every room. Each stay is shaped around the guest by a personal Majordome and a team of Alchemists. With just 46 residences, the water rarely feels shared, and racquet sports are kept on a separate island across the channel.
The Facilities
The spa island, five minutes by dhoni, is the highlight: Guerlain rituals made only for Randheli, including an After Diving Experience, plus a Leonor Greyl hair spa. Le 1947 brings French cooking to the atoll with a Maldivian tuna tartare, while Le Carrousel gives under-12s a 500 sqm club with its own pool.
The Padel
Padel is played on Maakurandhoo, the resort's jungle island a short boat ride away, beside two tennis courts built to US Open and Paris Masters standards. Play runs through the day, with floodlit evening sessions, and a clubhouse with showers and a terrace lounge to unwind.
