Ten nights over the water in the Maldives, and a former World No. 1 waiting on court.

This retreat centres on Juani Mieres, known across the sport as the Gentleman of Padel. For ten days, he stars at Le Méridien Maldives: small-group clinics, expert coaching and match play, building to a final tournament. Home is Thilamaafushi, a natural island in the Lhaviyani Atoll, with steps straight down into the Indian Ocean. Between sessions, recover with yoga and a massage, then take a kayak or paddleboard out, or snorkel the house reef. This is the Maldives, played the SET way.

About this trip

Find Your Bearings

After arriving in Malé, your journey finishes with a 35-minute seaplane flight north to Lhaviyani, one of the Maldives’ less developed atolls, where Le Méridien sits on a natural island whose name translates as “island surrounded by a vast lagoon”. Its nine hectares hold coral reef, seagrass meadows and mangroves. Home for the next ten nights is a 100sqm overwater villa facing the morning sun, with a private sun terrace and a hammock suspended above the water. Once you’ve settled in, head to Latitude, the resort’s social hub, for an Illy coffee.

Open the Playbook

At the heart of the retreat is Juani Mieres, one of the sport’s most respected figures. A left-side specialist, he reached the top of the World Padel Tour ranking with Miguel Lamperti in 2014 and, since retiring in 2023, has coached at the highest level, including on Fernando Belasteguín’s bench. Over ten days on the resort’s lagoon-side court, he opens up his playbook, sharing the technique, tactics and finer points of the professional game in sessions for all levels.

Rest and reset

Time on court is balanced by a wellness programme. Yoga is held at sunrise and sunset with ocean views; guided stretching and recovery sessions help you reset between clinics, and the Waves Lifestyle Hub adds daily classes from Pilates to boot camps. Your included massage takes place at the resort’s overwater spa, where treatment rooms have glass floor panels looking down onto the water below.

Life on the Reef

The house reef is home to green and hawksbill turtles, with snorkelling, kayaking and paddleboarding included. At the Marine Conservation Hub, the resort’s marine biologist leads snorkelling trips and explains the island’s ecosystem and marine life. Lhaviyani is widely regarded as one of the Maldives’ best atolls for diving, with more than 30 dive sites, including a protected national park. The resort’s dive centre can arrange guided dives, night dives and courses for every level, while sunset dolphin cruises and fishing trips are available on request.

Sunset to Starlight

As the day winds down, La Vie, the adults-only bar, hosts sunset drinks and live music overlooking the ocean. Dinner can then move between Tabemasu’s Japanese teppanyaki and Riviera’s beachside take on Southern Spain. After dark, the resident astronomer guides guests through the Maldivian night sky. For special occasions, a private beach dinner or a Harvest Table meal using produce from the resort’s greenhouse can be arranged.

Things to Know

How your journey comes together

SET Away operates on an enquiry-led, bespoke model. You won't book instantly online. Instead, we begin by understanding you, your level of play, how you like to travel, and what you want from the experience. From there, we design a tailored itinerary that brings together the right destination, accommodation, and padel programme. Once confirmed, your booking is secured with a deposit, typically from 20%, with the remaining balance due closer to departure.

Pricing & what's included

Each escape is individually priced depending on your group size, choice of hotel, the level of padel experience, and other activities. Prices are usually quoted per person based on two sharing, and can be adjusted accordingly. Flights are not always included by default, but can be arranged as part of your package. As everything is built to order, pricing may vary based on availability at the time of booking.

Amendments & cancellations

Changes can be made after booking, subject to timing and supplier flexibility. Amendments may incur additional costs, particularly closer to departure, where changes may be treated as cancellations. Deposits are non-refundable, and cancellation charges increase as you approach your travel date. Some elements of your trip may be subject to stricter supplier-specific policies. For hotel-only bookings, the hotel's own terms and conditions apply. For itinerary and travel package bookings, 360 Private Travel's terms and conditions apply.

The padel experience

Padel sits at the core of every escape. We work with a select group of the world's leading clubs and coaches to deliver what we consider to be some of the finest padel experiences available. Expect a well-balanced mix of coaching, structured match play, and social formats, all tailored to your group and level. Each programme is carefully designed to ensure time on court is both high quality and highly enjoyable.

Accommodation

Every stay is elevated through our partnership with 360 Private Travel, unlocking access to an unrivalled network of over 4,000 luxury hotels and resorts worldwide. As a Virtuoso member agency and Forbes Travel Guide-endorsed partner, we are able to secure exclusive benefits for our clients, including complimentary upgrades, daily breakfast, hotel credits, and priority access through the world's leading hoteliers. Each property is carefully selected to complement your destination and overall experience, ensuring consistency in service, setting, and quality throughout your journey. Room categories and upgrades remain subject to availability at the time of booking.

Optional experiences

Beyond padel, we can incorporate additional elements such as yacht charters, wellness treatments, or cultural activities. These are arranged through trusted partners and can be added to enhance your trip. Availability and pricing will depend on the destination and timing.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travellers take out comprehensive travel insurance, covering cancellation, medical needs, and travel disruption. In addition, all padel partners we work with are vetted and required to hold appropriate insurance, including participant injury coverage, ensuring a safe and professionally managed on-court experience.

Travel essentials

You are responsible for ensuring that passports, visas, and any health requirements are in place ahead of travel. You should also adhere to all confirmed timings and travel details. Standards and regulations may differ from your home country depending on the destination.

On-trip support

You will have access to support throughout your trip. If anything requires attention while you are travelling, it is important to raise it at the time so it can be addressed quickly and effectively.
